There haven’t been many skateboarding games in recent memory, other than last year’s stupendous release of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2. SkateBIRD finds itself filling an unexpected void. With the game locking down a release date, the game is content-complete and ready to go. In July 2020, the game was delayed not necessarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but because of the decision to include a single-player mode. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, the game was slated to release on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox in December 2019, with a release set for 2020. SkateBIRD has been in development since 2018. After all, it’s important to look fly on the pavement. After completing certain missions, players may accessorize their birds and stylize them. From ramps to poles, there’s plenty of opportunities for players to score their way to victory. Missions take place in bird-sized skateparks, from a messy bedroom to secret rooftops.
